Before you go shopping for all those fun fall pieces, it’s important to check what you already own. Like grocery shopping, you need to know what you have in your fridge. The last thing you need is an extra carton of milk & another dozen eggs. Here’s what you need to do this weekend:
1) Check for perishables
Are there any tops/bottoms that have had its day? Linty tops, anything with holes have got to go.
2) Look for salvageable
Some things may not be as fresh as when you bought them but with a little cleaning and fixing up, it can work. Buff those boots to a shine, tighten up loose buttons and get a tailor to nip & tuck for a better fit.
3) Cook up some style
So you have a random piece here and a random piece there. Play dress up and see what outfits you can mix & match with. Maybe all you’re missing is a new statement necklace or a multi-colour scarf.
Then hit the stores. Make sure those things you’re going to buy work with what you already own and can make at least 3 different outfits.
